This website is for people who run or are in the process of developing a single point of contact (SPOC) for people with English language (ESOL) needs. I hope you will find the website useful. It is intended to support models in different phases of development, and the people behind them. I hope to share with you resources, news, ideas and reflections from my time managing a SPOC, and I invite you to do the same in the discussion forum. You are also, most welcome to submit a featured article for the blog.

I coordinated and managed the first ESOL Advice Service. I have also advised central government on ESOL coordination, and worked for and with a number of other local authorities across England in developing SPOCs.

Over the years, I have learnt a good deal, and am very happy to share my experiences, advise and support other SPOCs in developing similar and superior models. For more substantial work, I am available on a consultancy basis.
